About Us

We bring the best in-house talent and technology to locally assembled workforces across the country.

Our Engineers and Project Managers have 40 years of combined experience in government and mining infrastructure. Unlike other civil engineering contractors, we offer blue-chip project management and quality assurance systems as well as local knowledge. This gives clients a powerful point of difference, with in-house capabilities ensuring streamlined project delivery.

Our people are the NBA All Stars of infrastructure.

The secret to such a high-performing team is in the way we nurture the skills of each individual. We have a culture of feet-on-the-ground, meaning every project is led by the best fit for the job, wherever they are needed. This enables us to bridge regional skills gaps and round off the capabilities of local area suppliers and subcontractors.

Our principles

01
Decentralised Delivery
This ensures efficient, adaptable service to communities and projects across vast and diverse regions. By establishing strategically located offices we bring our expertise and resources closer to the areas we serve. This approach empowers local teams, reduces response times, and allows for greater flexibility in addressing region-specific needs and challenges. Decentralised Delivery also fosters stronger relationships with local stakeholders and communities, creating meaningful partnerships and supporting regional development.
02
Proactive Planning
This drives our approach to every project. By anticipating potential challenges and opportunities from the outset, we ensure that each phase—design, development, and execution—is handled with foresight and efficiency. Our team leverages extensive industry expertise and cutting-edge resources to address environmental, regulatory, and logistical aspects ahead of time, allowing us to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
03
Local Acceleration
This core principle guides our project execution and community engagement. By prioritising local talent, resources, and partnerships, we accelerate project timelines while boosting the economic impact in the communities we serve. This approach allows us to tap into local knowledge, foster stronger community relationships, and contribute to regional growth. Leveraging local suppliers and workforce not only creates jobs but also ensures that our projects align with the specific needs and expectations of the community.
04
Open Opportunity
Open opportunity reflects our commitment to fostering growth, innovation, and inclusivity across every facet of our operations. We believe that by creating pathways for diverse talent, empowering small businesses, and nurturing regional suppliers, we can enrich both our projects and the communities we serve. Open Opportunity means not only broadening access to work and development but also cultivating a culture where ideas and skills can flourish, leading to enhanced solutions and outcomes.
05
Embedded Accountability
This is integral to our approach, ensuring that every project is delivered with transparency, integrity, and a commitment to exceeding expectations. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, with accountability woven into every phase—from planning and procurement to execution and completion. This commitment means setting clear benchmarks, closely monitoring progress, and maintaining open communication with clients and stakeholders. Embedded Accountability not only drives quality and efficiency but also reinforces trust within the communities we serve.
06
Safety Culture
At Durack Civil, safety culture is a cornerstone of every operation, reflecting a commitment to protecting the well-being of employees, clients, and the community. By fostering a proactive approach to safety, the company ensures that risks are identified and mitigated before they become incidents. This culture is driven by comprehensive training, adherence to industry standards, and the empowerment of all team members to prioritise safety in every decision and action. By integrating safety into its core values, Durack Civil not only safeguards its workforce but also enhances productivity and project quality, demonstrating leadership in the civil construction industry.
Our Locations

Based in south-east Queensland, we have successfully completed projects across most of regional Queensland and northern NSW, including remote areas.

Our Community

Durack Civil is committed to making a positive impact in the communities where they work. They prioritize building strong relationships with local residents, supporting initiatives that enhance community well-being, and fostering opportunities for growth and development. Their approach goes beyond just delivering projects; they aim to leave a lasting, positive legacy in every community they serve, reflecting their dedication to both their work and the people who live there.

Indigenous participation

Indigenous participation

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of Australia, the owners of the land and elders past, present and future. We understand the importance of creating relationships and respecting the culture and traditions of Australia’s Indigenous communities. By working in partnership with local Aboriginal leaders, community organisations and business owners, we aim to establish strong local ties and build relationships that are both positive and productive.

Indigenous participation

Indigenous participation

We strive to diversify our workforce and provide opportunities for individuals across a range of cultural backgrounds. By offering skills training in areas such as Rural First Aid, Traffic Control and Operation Ticketing, we aim to create local employment opportunities for Aboriginal people, enhance their business skills, and improve the social and economic conditions of Indigenous communities.

Helping our communities

Helping our communities

We are committed to minimising our environmental impact and conserving resources wherever possible. Best practice environmental management is integral to our approach to every project. We are sensitive to environmental concerns and work in partnership with local businesses and the community to create solutions that minimise environmental impact.

Helping our communities

Helping our communities

Durack Civil is committed to supporting each of the local communities we work within via sponsorships, community engagement and hiring. We make it our mission to collaborate with local residents and contractors, providing training opportunities that can help build a skilled workforce while also reinvesting back into the community. Through these efforts, Durack Civil aims to leave a lasting legacy that ensures the region is well-equipped to meet its future infrastructure needs.
