Scope

Durack Civil was engaged by Livingstone Shire Council to deliver the Rosi Greenlake Road & Artillery Road Upgrade project, aimed at improving safety, flood immunity, and traffic efficiency along a key regional corridor. The scope addressed deficient horizontal and vertical alignments that posed safety risks and contributed to accidents, while also enhancing flood resilience and visibility at narrow floodways. Works included upgrades to two sections of Greenlake Road, featuring road widening, stormwater drainage, batter reshaping, signage, road furniture, and the construction of approximately 1,176 metres of new pavement. At the Greenlake and Artillery Road intersection, improvements involved new turning lanes, widened through lanes, culvert extensions, and drainage works.

Despite initial challenges—including unavailable work zones for stormwater and communication upgrades, environmentally sensitive site areas, and adverse weather—Durack Civil successfully rescheduled critical path activities, collaborated with Council to manage exclusion zones, and implemented effective temporary drainage controls to maintain progress and ensure compliance. The result is a safer, more resilient, and operationally efficient corridor supporting freight, recreational travel, and community connectivity.
