Mt Isa City Council engaged Durack Civil to upgrade a 2 km section of Riversleigh Road.
Scope:
The scope of work involved bulk earthworks to cut down crests and fill various troughs to improve readability and site distance. The existing material was reused as subgrade pavement and insitu cement stabilised prior to a base course 2.1 overlay and 2 coat seal. All works were constructed to TMR specifications and under a single lane closure contra flow arrangement.
Challenges:
Setting up camp and utilising state of the art machine control guidance systems in an extremely remote environment with no phone service and limited infrastructure.
