Lismore Airport Civil Works
Scope
Durack Civil has been engaged by Lismore City Council to deliver the Lismore Airport Civil Works project at Lismore Airport, a key regional aviation facility supporting general aviation, emergency response services, freight operations, and essential community connectivity. The project forms part of the airport restoration and upgrade program and involves significant airside civil works to improve pavement performance, drainage capacity, and overall operational capability. Works include runway and taxiway upgrades, bulk earthworks, pavement reconstruction and stabilisation, and drainage improvements, along with the implementation of erosion and sediment control measures.
Additional scope includes the installation of airfield lighting infrastructure, including PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) and RTIL (Runway Threshold Identification Lights), along with associated trenching, service coordination, and reinstatement of disturbed areas. Delivered within a live airport environment, the project requires detailed staging, strict safety controls, and close coordination with ongoing airport operations. Maintaining operational continuity, including support for emergency services, while managing constrained work areas and weather-sensitive conditions, is a key focus throughout delivery.
