Durack Civil was engaged by Gold Coast City Council to construct and upgrade 6 bio retention basins throughout the city.
The scope of work included testing and confirming hydraulic permeability of existing basins, supply and installation of clay capping layers as required, drainage line installation and upgrades, acid sulphate management, concrete structure construction, specialist sand layers and extensive landscaping.
The 6 basins included Burleigh Heads, Pimpama, Ormeau, Reedy Creek and Coomera.
The works required significant temporary drainage and erosion and sediment control planning to limit impacts on existing waterways.
