Southern Downs Council engaged Durack to construct 4 new concrete causeway crossings on the Condamine River Road in Killarney.
The scope of works included detailed earthworks and pavements for the new causeway approaches, creek diversion, significant dewatering, rock working platforms, cement treated base, concrete cut off walls and landscaping.
The works posed various challenges including highly sensitive platypus habitat and community tension surrounding the project scope. Durack worked with Council to manage these issues on a daily basis.
