Durack Civil was contracted by Gympie Shire Council to reconstruct and widen the existing intersection at Laminex Road. The intersection was riddled with potholes and pavement damage from the heavy truck traffic and required and new asphalt overlay as well as alterations to the existing geometry to enhance road safety for turning vehicles.
Durack performed profiling works to the shoulders, sub grade preparation, pavement construction and bitumen seal and asphalt works to repair the intersection. Challenges included working under heavy vehicle traffic flow adjacent to the TMR highway.
