Ballina Shire Council engaged Durack to construct a new carpark to the Kingsford Smith Park area.
Durack was required to maintain 40 temporary carparks during construction. The scope of works included recycling existing road pavement as sub-base material, mixing this material with new imported sub-base to correct design levels / drainage prior to the base course layer. The carpark was bounded by barrier, flush and invert kerb and included an asphalt wearing course layer.
Durack provided design optimisation in order to limit unsuitable risk and drainage challenges.
