After successfully completing construction of stages 2 and 3 of Stanage Bay Road, Durack was engaged by Livingstone Shire Council to construct stage 1 - a 6 km segment near the start of Stanage bay Road tying into the highway.
This section of road required construction of robust foundation treatments through wet creek areas and more complex road geometry. Installation of numerous new culvert lines through drainage paths and significant tree clearing and fauna management.
The the final road design included a 2 layer pavement and 2 coat bitumen seal.
