Lockhart DRFA

Durack Civil has been engaged by Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council under the DRFA program to restore roads damaged by recent severe weather, reinstating safe and reliable access for the remote community.

The scope includes clearing, excavation of failed pavement, subgrade replacement, gravel re-sheeting, sealed surface reinstatement, drainage repairs and installations, batter reshaping, erosion and sediment controls, quality testing, and final site reinstatement.

Key challenges include the remote Cape York location, limited access to materials and resources, seasonal weather risks, and complex logistics, all while maintaining full compliance with DRFA requirements and technical specifications.
