What happens when you turn a remote outback airport into a live music venue?
Welcome to Runway Under The Stars, an unforgettable celebration in Burketown, Far North Queensland, marking the official opening of the newly upgraded Burketown Airport.
Delivered by Durack Civil, the airport upgrade represents more than just new infrastructure. It's an investment in regional connectivity, opportunity and the future of one of Australia's most remote communities.
To celebrate, the Burketown community came together for an extraordinary night of live music, headlined by King Stingray, alongside the DMC Boys and Dream Thieves, bringing an incredible atmosphere to the Gulf Country.
From the people who helped deliver the project to the local community who will benefit from it for generations, Runway Under The Stars was a celebration of what can be achieved when people come together.
A huge thank you to Burke Shire Council, The Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation and the local community, performers, project partners and everyone who helped bring this unforgettable event to life.
