Access Roads for Borumba Dam

Durack was recently Contracted by Gympie Regional Council to assist with Landslip remediation on Bella Creek Road near Imbil, QLD following the 2021 flood event. The heavy rainfall experienced caused a shear in the underlying rock face which needs to be repaired to ensure safe passage for road users. The scope of works included clear and grub of the existing slip face, disposal and removal of all debris, two rows of 6m soil nails, shotcrete the underside of the slip and replacement of lost pavement material. Durack engaged Local Sunshine Coast Subcontractors to assist with the works to assist with Durack’s expert team who will deliver the works. Due to the remote location, Durack had to implement innovative methods for shotcrete trials and concrete placement.
