PM, Matt Taylor speaks on the Cassowary Coast Flood Recovery

Cassowary Coast Flood Damage

The Durack team are leading the restoration of critical infrastructure for the Cassowary Coast Regional Council following the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Jasper in December 2023. This large-scale recovery effort spans 1,438 damage sites along a 60-kilometer stretch between Innisfail and Mission Beach, addressing vital community needs.

Our scope includes importing approximately 130,000 tonnes of gravel for road reconstruction and rock protection batters, performing in-situ and foamed bitumen stabilization, road sealing, replacing culverts and pipelines, and reconstructing reinforced concrete structures.

At Durack Civil, we are dedicated to repairing and upgrading local infrastructure to enhance safety and efficiency for the community. We are proud to work closely with the Cassowary Coast Regional Council and SHEPHERD Services to deliver this essential disaster recovery project.
