Durack Civil is involved in supporting the Aurukun Deadly Awards, a quarterly initiative recognising strong performance and safety across the Aurukun Shire Council workforce.
The awards highlight employees who consistently contribute to their teams and the broader operation, whether through leadership, stepping up in challenging conditions, or maintaining high safety standards in day-to-day work. Categories include Deadly Employee and Deadly Safety, with first, second and third place recognised in each.
Recent awards have acknowledged long-term leadership, commitment to apprenticeships, support of co-workers, and practical safety outcomes across a range of roles from field operations through to IT and business services. This reflects the broad contribution of council staff and the importance of both performance and safety across all areas of the workforce.
